Samsung is rumored to cut storage prices to "grab the market"
In order to further expand its market share, Samsung Electronics plans to adjust its memory chip prices in the second half of this year, according to DigiTimes. Prior to this, due to the weakening of terminal demand, the storage prices of DRAM, NAND Flash, etc. in the Q2 spot market this year all declined to varying degrees.
If Samsung ultimately decides to cut prices, other memory chip companies are expected to follow suit to ease inventory pressure and trigger a price war in the second half of the year, industry sources said.
As of press time, Samsung has not publicly commented on the price reduction of memory chips.
