Samsung's high-end memory chips are expected to be mass-produced

According to Xinhua News Agency, Samsung (China) Semiconductor Co., Ltd.'s import and export volume in the first quarter was 27.866 billion yuan, an increase of 45% from the same period last year. The first phase of the second phase of the project is expected to achieve full production in the third quarter of this year.
 
Chi Xianji, vice president of Samsung (China) Semiconductor Co., Ltd., said that during the epidemic, the first phase of the second phase of Samsung’s memory chip project was in the equipment debugging phase. In order to ensure that the products are successfully off the assembly line, Xi'an High-tech Zone has established a special class mechanism for major foreign-invested projects, helped Samsung to receive more than 700 engineers through charter flights, and helped transport back key raw materials from Hubei.
 
The data shows that the total investment of the second phase of Samsung’s Xi’an project is US$15 billion. It mainly manufactures flash memory chips and is carried out in two phases. The first phase of the project has a total investment of US$7 billion and is expected to be completed and put into production in March 2020; the second phase will invest 8 billion. The construction of the US dollar started at the end of last year, and mass production is expected in the first half of 2021.
 
On March 10, 2020, Samsung (China) Semiconductor Co., Ltd.'s high-end memory chip Phase II project products officially went offline. As for the first-stage production capacity, South Korean media reported that Samsung plans to produce 65,000 NAND flash memory chips per month, but this number has not been confirmed by Samsung China.
