TOP10 semiconductor manufacturers list released in 2019!

According to research firm Gartner, Intel will retake the top spot in the semiconductor market from Samsung in 2019. However, global semiconductor revenues totaled $ 418.3 billion in 2019, a decrease of 11.9% from 2018.

 

Among them, Intel had the highest revenue in 2019, about $ 65.8 billion; Samsung followed closely with revenue of about $ 52.2 billion. SK Hynix and Micron have third and fourth revenues of US $ 22.4 billion and US $ 20 billion in semiconductors, respectively. Although Intel regained the top spot, its revenue in 2019 fell by about 1% year-on-year. Gartner pointed out that the limited CPU supply and the sale of the modem business to Apple were also the reasons for the slight decline in revenue.

 

Due to the negative impact of the decline in the memory market on Samsung Electronics, Intel regained the top spot in the market. (Gartner noted that oversupply and decline in DRAM and NAND flash memory have led Samsung Memory, which accounts for 82% of its sales, to fall 34% in 2019.)

 

Intel ’s semiconductor revenue fell 0.7% in 2019 due to slower server market growth, continued constraints in CPU supply and the sale of its cellular modem business to Apple in 4Q19.

 

Gartner expects the recovery of NAND to continue in 2020 due to strong demand for solid state drives (SSDs) and the large increase in 5G smartphones, which has led to low-level supply growth. Gartner also noted that analog products fell 5.4% year-on-year due to weak industrial and automotive markets. Optoelectronic products remain strong due to strong sales of smartphone cameras. It is expected that the overall market conditions will improve this year. After high inventory clearance, by 2020, we expect that the semiconductor market revenue will increase, which will drive the average selling price of chips, especially in the memory field.
